Community Health Initiative

Our Mission:

The Healing Arts Center is dedicated to providing space and support for holistic healthcare treatments and services for our community.  We strive to offer valuable education and resources about holistic healthcare and wellness.

We are very happy to announce the return of a program designed to offer integrative healthcare offerings to members of the Orcas community. Many of you may recall this popular program as S.O.S. (Spirit of Service) which successfully ran from 2014 – 2019. Our members’ commitment to the community is bringing back our therapy program for income-impacted clients under a different name: C.H.I. (Community Health Initiative).

We are working with Orcas Resource Center to help us connect and guide clients to the Healing Arts Center. Clients referred to C.H.I. will be able to receive treatment at the Healing Arts Center for a $15- $35 copayment. This is set up as a sliding scale, based on a client’s ability to pay. Any co-payment amount over $15 will go back into the program to fund future appointments for others participating in the program. All of our practitioners/members are participating in C.H.I. and making it possible by substantially discounting their regular fees. The Healing Arts Center provides acupuncture, counselling, nurse practitioner services, and a variety of massage therapy and bodywork. Our current membership, new and old, is energized to broaden our outreach to meet the integrative healthcare needs of those in our

Community.

We have been fortunate to receive funding through donations and being included in the Orcas Island Community Foundation’s 2024 Winter Catalogue. Ongoing support is needed and appreciated. A $50 donation provides an hour of therapy; a $500 donation will provide a minimum of 10 treatments.
